This data reflects enrollment taken in October 2024, for the 2024-2025 school year.<\/p>\n<p><strong>1.\tOverall Nonpublic Enrollment.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Florida\u2019s nonpublic school enrollment reached 448,743 in 2024, an increase of 32,761 students (+7.9%) from the previous year. This is the largest single-year gain in recent history and continues a four-year trend of rapid growth, averaging 25,000 new students annually since 2021.<br \/>\nIn comparison, annual increases before 2021 were much smaller, ranging between 2,000 and 15,000 students. The largest gains were seen among the following groups:<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\t<strong>Independent and Non-Denominational Schools<\/strong> grew by 20,000 students \u2013 a 9.4% increase over the prior year.<br \/>\n\u2022\t<strong>Baptist Schools<\/strong> grew by 4,310 students \u2013 a 9.8% increase over the prior year.<br \/>\n\u2022\t<strong>Other Christian Schools<\/strong> grew by 4,235 students \u2013 a 9.8% increase over the prior year.<br \/>\n\u2022\t<strong>Catholic Schools<\/strong> grew by 2,797 students \u2013 a 3.4% increase over the prior year.<br \/>\n\u2022\t<strong>Jewish Schools<\/strong> grew by 1,088 students \u2013 a 7.4% increase over the prior year.<br \/>\n\u2022\t<strong>Muslim Schools<\/strong> grew by 331 students \u2013 a 5.8% increase over the prior year.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/teachcoalition.org\/content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2025\/05\/Figure-2-1-750x363.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"750\" height=\"363\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-282\" srcset=\"https:\/\/teachcoalition.org\/content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2025\/05\/Figure-2-1-750x363.png 750w, https:\/\/teachcoalition.org\/content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2025\/05\/Figure-2-1-300x145.png 300w, https:\/\/teachcoalition.org\/content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2025\/05\/Figure-2-1-150x73.png 150w, https:\/\/teachcoalition.org\/content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2025\/05\/Figure-2-1-768x372.png 768w, https:\/\/teachcoalition.org\/content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2025\/05\/Figure-2-1-1536x743.png 1536w, https:\/\/teachcoalition.org\/content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2025\/05\/Figure-2-1-2048x991.png 2048w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 750px) 100vw, 750px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>As of 2024-2025, the group that had the most K-12 students were <strong>Independent and Non-Denominational<\/strong> schools with 232,447 students (52% of the total). This was followed by <strong>Catholic<\/strong> schools with 85,667 students (19.1% of the total), <strong>Other Christian<\/strong> schools with 60,374 students (13.5% of the total), <strong>Baptist<\/strong> schools with 48,449 students (10.8% of the total), <strong>Jewish<\/strong> schools with 15,765 students (3.5% of the total), and <strong>Muslim<\/strong> schools with 6,041 students (1.3% of the total).<\/p>\n<p><strong>3.\tEnrollment Trends in Jewish Schools.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Jewish schools grew by 1,088 students in the 2024-2025 school year, a 7.4% increase over the previous year. This growth rate is only slightly below the average annual increase of 8.0% observed over the prior five years, starting with the 2020-21 school year. <\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/teachcoalition.org\/content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2025\/05\/Figure-3-2-750x380.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"750\" height=\"380\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-290\" srcset=\"https:\/\/teachcoalition.org\/content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2025\/05\/Figure-3-2-750x380.png 750w, https:\/\/teachcoalition.org\/content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2025\/05\/Figure-3-2-300x152.png 300w, https:\/\/teachcoalition.org\/content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2025\/05\/Figure-3-2-150x76.png 150w, https:\/\/teachcoalition.org\/content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2025\/05\/Figure-3-2-768x389.png 768w, https:\/\/teachcoalition.org\/content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2025\/05\/Figure-3-2.png 940w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 750px) 100vw, 750px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em>3.1.\tJewish Enrollment Growth by Region.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Growth in Jewish schools was concentrated in <strong>Broward (+496, +14.2%); Miami-Dade (+283, +4.0%); and Palm Beach (+220, +7.4%)<\/strong>.<br \/>\nSome growth was also seen in <strong>Orlando (+36, +7.8%); Fort Myers, Sarasota, Tampa (+23, +5.6%);<\/strong> and <strong>Gainesville, Jacksonville (+30, +15.3%)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/teachcoalition.org\/content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2025\/05\/Figure-4-1-750x298.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"750\" height=\"298\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-284\" srcset=\"https:\/\/teachcoalition.org\/content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2025\/05\/Figure-4-1-750x298.png 750w, https:\/\/teachcoalition.org\/content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2025\/05\/Figure-4-1-300x119.png 300w, https:\/\/teachcoalition.org\/content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2025\/05\/Figure-4-1-150x60.png 150w, https:\/\/teachcoalition.org\/content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2025\/05\/Figure-4-1-768x305.png 768w, https:\/\/teachcoalition.org\/content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2025\/05\/Figure-4-1-1536x610.png 1536w, https:\/\/teachcoalition.org\/content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2025\/05\/Figure-4-1-2048x814.png 2048w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 750px) 100vw, 750px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em>3.2.\tEnrollment Trends by Jewish Category.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Modern Orthodox Schools<\/strong> \u2013 defined as Orthodox schools that are coed \u2013 saw significant enrollment growth, with an increase of <strong>483 students (+10.0%)<\/strong>.<br \/>\n<strong>Yeshivish Schools<\/strong> \u2013 defined as Orthodox schools where students are gender-segregated \u2013 saw moderate enrollment growth, with an additional enrollment of <strong>351 students (+5.8%)<\/strong>.<br \/>\n<strong>Non-Orthodox Schools<\/strong> saw some enrollment growth with an additional enrollment of <strong>254 students (+6.7%)<\/strong>.
