Q&A

What are the 2021 NYC elections for?
The 2021 elections include a race for mayor of NYC, as well as for city council. The primaries (where candidates are chosen from each party) will be held on June 22, and the general election will be November 2, 2021.
Is there anything different this year?
You will be able to request absentee ballots for the primary and general elections. Additionally, this year, NYC is introducing “rank-choice voting.”
I think my party will lose. Why should I vote?
Just the act of voting itself sends a clear message to our elected officials that we are “in the game” and should be taken seriously, regardless if we vote for the winning candidate or not. Plus, you never know.
Why is strong voter turnout important for our community?
Our vote is our voice. As a community with nonpublic schools and unique needs it is vital that we show our elected officials that we register and vote, and it is worth their effort to address our needs and earn our vote.

When we vote, elected officials take note.
