Governor Hochul and New York lawmakers have taken a historic step forward for nonpublic school students and families.
With nearly half a billion dollars in annual support for nonpublic school students, the FY27 state budget includes major investments that will help keep students safe, expand educational opportunities, and provide meaningful support for the schools and families who rely on these essential services.
This year’s budget includes:
- $90 million for the Nonpublic School Safety Equipment (NPSE) program
- $35 million for Securing Communities Against Hate Crimes (SCAHC)
- $85.5 million for STEM instruction in nonpublic schools
- $243 million for mandated services reimbursement
- $5 million for arts and music education
- Buffer zone protections to help safeguard students and school communities
At a time when security concerns are rising and affordability remains a real challenge for families, these investments make a meaningful difference.
Take a moment to thank Governor Hochul and state legislators for there leadership and support for New York nonpublic school students.
