The TeachNYS STEM team has set an ambitious goal of completing 25% of our member schools’ applications before the application itself is even released!
We’re working with over 40 member schools to gather and organize all documentation possible, including teacher lists, eligibility proof, evidence of employment, individual and master schedules, name change proof, and more. So far, nearly 100 applications from about 15 schools are just about complete. For those schools, this means that when the application is released, all the school will have to do is make some finishing touches, compile course descriptions to meet any new requirements, gather last minute components and signatures, and submit their applications!
The best part? These 15 schools will, for the first time in close to a decade, have a summer vacation without having to work on STEM applications!
Whether your school is large or small, you have 30 STEM applications or two, we implore you to begin and complete the process right away.
If you have any questions, would like to move forward with application compilation, or would like to join as a member school to obtain our assistance, please be in touch with our STEM Director Adam Katz or your dedicated TeachNYS STEM expert.
Once the application is released, we will begin hosting weekly open STEM/AMTS hours like last year, create and share a one-page STEM checklist, update templates, and more.
Last, if you’d like more of your STEM teachers to become eligible for salary reimbursement through this NYSED program, have your teachers enroll in our exclusive, reduced-price, and customized masters in education partnerships with SUNY, Touro University, and Gratz College. You can learn more here. If you’d like your teachers to enroll, please be in touch directly with Adam Katz at katza@teachcoalition.org.
