Teach NYS has advocated tirelessly and worked behind the scenes with both State and Federal partners to ensure the grant’s release and are pleased to let you know that the application period is now open. Your organization can apply for up to $200,000 per location, with a maximum of 3 locations, for security measures- including equipment, trainings, guards, and cybersecurity.
The application deadline is Tuesday, January 13th, 2026 by 5 p.m., so please mark your calendars and begin grant preparations now if you plan on applying. Applications must be submitted on the DHSES E-Grants website. Submission instructions can be found here.
To apply for the NSGP grant, you will need to submit:
- A current Vulnerability Assessment that addresses the security measures you are requesting
- A completed Investment Justification (application)
- Proof of SFS Prequalification- a screenshot from the Grants Information section on SFS that shows your prequalified status
- Your mission statement on letterhead
It is critical to ensure that your organization is prequalified in the New York Statewide Financial System (SFS) at the time of application submission. This is a lengthy process and can take some time to complete. For prequalification guidance, visit New York Grants Management. Your organization will also need an E-Grants account that is registered using the full legal name. The account name should match your grant application documents. You will also need to register two contacts to be associated with the account. Click here for the contact registration form.
Our security grants team at Project Protect offers low-cost writing assistance and has a very limited number of spots available for grant writing. Please complete the Contact Us form on the Project Protect website to sign up for grant assistance.
