MSR Final Deadline and Revised Regulations

The NYSED Mandated Services portal closes on April 1, 2023. It’s important to remember that the April 1st deadline is now a “hard” deadline, meaning that a school is not able to file a claim for 2021-22 after that date. In years past, schools had up to three years to file claims, but that is no longer an option.

All schools will be paid by May 31st, regardless of whether your claim is in a hold status or has been approved. If your claim is on hold, the hold must be cleared before you’ll be able to file the coming year’s claim. If your school still has a hold on your 20-21 claim, please reach out to our office immediately.

Another change in Mandated Services which started last year is a more extensive review process by NYSED. This applies to a range of scenarios, including if your claim decreased. It is very important to make sure all of your academic and financial data is accurate and backed up by school and payroll records; NYSED has been requesting data that they haven’t requested previously for their claim reviews. Again, if you have any questions about this process or need guidance, we’re happy to assist.
