Teach FL’s Mimi Jankovits and Dr. Allan Jacob Named to Gov.-elect Ron DeSantis’ Transition Advisory Committee on Education and the Workforce

HOLLYWOOD, FL – The Orthodox Union and Teach Coalition, the nation’s leading advocacy organization for nonpublic schools, congratulates Teach FL’s Executive Director Mimi Jankovits and Chairman Dr. Allan Jacob for their appointment to Gov.-elect Ron DeSantis’ transition team where they will serve on the Advisory Committee on Education and Workforce Development. The formation of the 39-member committee, announced December 6 by the DeSantis team, includes public school leaders, school choice leaders, school board members, education advocates and current and former leaders of Florida’s higher education system. It will be led by Marva Johnson, Board of Education chairwoman, and Mori Hosseini, a University of Florida trustee.

The group will advise the governor-elect’s transition team in developing a plan to ensure that all students in Florida have the opportunity to access a world-class education and develop the skills they need to succeed in the workforce and beyond. “The appointment of Mimi and Allan to Gov.-elect DeSantis’ transition team is an honor for these two talented individuals as well as for the Teach Coalition and Teach FL,” said Orthodox Union President Moishe Bane. “Mimi, Allan and their team have devoted their talents and energies to improving and expanding educational opportunities for Florida’s students, and I congratulate them for earning this critical opportunity.

“I’m humbled by the opportunity to collaborate with a committee dedicated to further improving Florida education on behalf of Governor-elect DeSantis,” said Teach FL Executive Director Mimi Jankovits. “It is a privilege to represent the Jewish community’s commitment that Florida’s children have access to the safe and quality education that is best for them.” “It is a privilege to have the opportunity to contribute to the future of Florida’s children and the entire state of Florida. I look forward to bringing the knowledge and experience that Teach Florida has amassed to help create the best possible future for our students,” said Teach FL Chairman Dr. Allan Jacob.
