This afternoon the leadership of Teach NYS, a project of the Orthodox Union, issued the following statement regarding the New York City Council Speaker’s Race:
” We congratulate Council Member Corey Johnson on becoming the next speaker of the Council” said Allen Fagin, Executive Vice President of the Orthodox Union, ” We have had the opportunity to work with Councilmember Johnson over the last few years and we are confident that he will be a strong advocate for all of New York City’s schoolchildren”
