Media Statement: January 3, 2018

The Orthodox Union and Teach NYS, a project of the Orthodox Union, applaud Governor Cuomo for pledging solidarity with the community to combat antisemitism.

“Following a year where we endured a reprehensibly high volume of anti-Semitic threats to our school and community centers, Teach NYS is grateful for the tone the Governor struck in his State of the State address,” said Teach NYS Director Jake Adler. “When our schools and community centers faced heightened threats, the governor responded immediately, and we applaud his continued vigilance.”
“Once again, Governor Cuomo has demonstrated his commitment to fighting antisemitism in all its forms, and he continues to lead the charge against this vile hatred targeting our community,” said Allen I. Fagin, Executive Vice President of the Orthodox Union. “The Governor’s comments are consistent with his ongoing commitment to the safety and security of our community, both here and abroad. The Governor was the first in the nation to take executive action against BDS and has lead the nation with increased security for our schools and community centers.”
