Here at Teach Coalition we are already busy at work preparing schools’ 2021-2022 Mandated Services claims so that they are ready for submission when the portal opens. The NYS Education Department has announced that they expect to open the portal for 2021-2022 claims by no later than December 31, 2022. The deadline to submit 2021-2022 school year claims will be on April 1, 2023.
As with the prior year’s claims, all submitted claims will be paid to schools by May 31, 2023. Claims put on hold will also be paid by May 31, 2023; however, schools will have to provide required documents to clear the hold. If a claim is on hold, schools will not be able to file for future claims until the hold is resolved. Please note, the MSA-CAP system will not accept 2021-2022 school year claims at any future date past April 1, 2023.
Updates for the 2021-2022 claims process
- SSIP (State School immunization Program) rate has been set at $3.85.
- Statewide elementary assessments and Regents exams were once again administered for the 2021-2022 school year (after a pause due to COVID) with a few exceptions. There are hold harmless provisions for exams that were cancelled. You can see the full list of exams and their status on the memo here (page 3).
