As we have publicized over the last few months, NYSED is now requiring that any 23-24 school year MST (STEM) Year 7 and AMTS (Arts and Music) Year 1 teacher reimbursement applications submitted by email be resubmitted on the NYSED Business Portal. This process entails that applications are converted to portal-ready versions, then uploaded and submitted. NYSED’s goal with this change is to streamline their application reviews and speed up the award process. This resubmission requirement for emailed applications will also apply for the 24-25 school year emailed applications (MST Year 8 and AMTS Year 2).
For our member schools, we’re converting your documents to portal-ready versions, uploading them, and submitting them on your behalf. There’s nothing you have to do except respond to our requests for information and grant permission for us to submit on your behalf. So far, we have submitted over 500 applications on behalf of our member schools and expect to submit another 100 more applications in the coming weeks. Together with member schools who initially submitted on the portal or who are submitting now on their own, 124 Teach NYS divisions/schools will have submitted over 750 applications when the dust settles.
In addition to the resubmission requirement for prior years, all STEM/MST and AMTS applications will need to be submitted on the portal going forward. For our member schools, we will work with you to prepare and submit your applications. We are excited to use the portal exclusively and have seen several advantages with this process from our resubmission work. Please be on the lookout for outreach from our staff for the 25-26 school year compilation process.
If you have any questions about the resubmission process or upcoming applications, please reach out to our Associate Director of Government Programs and STEM Director, Adam Katz.
