Teach NJ Field Director Job Description
Teach NJ is seeking a Field Director to be responsible for cultivating relationships with activists, lay leaders, school officials, and school board members to build a strong grassroots movement focused on advocacy, voting, ambassador networks, development and event management in their assigned communities. As part of a growing grassroots team, the Field Director will be supported by the state and national office.
Essential Functions:
- Recruit and cultivate relationships with community members to be organization lay leaders and influencers in each assigned area
- Work with New Jersey Jewish school heads, lay and professional leaders to keep them informed and engaged in advocacy, policy work and government services
- Recruit, grow and manage ambassadors, GOTV boosters and activists through meeting, cultivating and training people from such groups as: schools, parents, synagogue members and Jewish community supporters
- Engage constituents in action alerts, training, events and other advocacy activities
- Organize educational events in homes, schools, synagogues, other locales and online
- Expand area’s voter database and voter registration activities
- Recruit and manage GOTV strategy and activists
- Fundraising and donor development with lay leaders, schools and activists
- Represent the organization at school, community events and forums
- Participate in fundraising campaigns and events
