The Securing Communities Against Hate Crimes (SCAHC) grant was launched in 2017 to help secure nonpublic schools, synagogues, community centers, day camps, residential camps, and daycare centers against the ever-increasing threat of hate crimes and anti-Semitic incidents. Teach NYS worked with the Governor’s office to create this program as part of the OU’s continued commitment to ensure that schools, synagogues, and other nonprofit institutions are kept safe. Eligible nonprofits in New York can apply for this competitive grant to fund security projects that will serve to protect their institutions.
