Teach Florida  Contest RULES and TERMS

The Teach Florida Social Media Contest (the “Contest”) is sponsored by Teach Florida, a project of the Union of Orthodox Jewish Congregations of America (the “Orthodox Union”), a non-profit organization, having an address at 40 Rector Street, New York, NY 10004 (“Sponsor”).

ELIGIBILITY:

The Contest is open to all United States residents who are at least thirteen (13) years of age at the time they enter the Contest, subject to the terms and conditions of these Official Rules (“Entrants”). 

Void where prohibited. 

In the event that the Sponsor learns that any Entrant is under the age of thirteen (13), the Sponsor will retain the information submitted by the Entrant long enough to respond to the Entrant but will otherwise delete all information submitted by the Entrant after notifying the Entrant that they are ineligible for the Contest.

Individuals affiliated with Teach Florida and/or the Orthodox Union, including employees, officers, directors, board members, trustees, fellows, research associates, agents, representatives or independent contractors of the Orthodox Union, or subsidiaries, affiliates, agents, assigns, or any entity connected with this promotion, and each of their immediate families (children, parents, siblings, and spouses) and others living in their households, are not eligible. Teach Florida and/or The Orthodox Union will determine eligibility in its sole discretion.

ENTRY:

To participate in this Contest, Entrant must follow Teach Florida’s Instagram account, share one of Teach Florida’s posts about the Contest (the “Post”), and tag three other Instagram accounts on the Post.

ENTRY PERIOD:

Entry begins on August 14, 2022 at 12:00 a.m.  All entries must be received by August 20,  2022 at 11:59 PM (“Contest Period”). The winner will be announced prior to August 31, 2022. 

ETHICS:

By entering this Contest, you confirm that you will follow Teach Florida’s Instagram account, like a Post, and tag three other Instagram accounts on the post.

HOW TO ENTER:

All entries must be made within the Contest Period, i.e., subsequent to the date that entry begins and prior to the date that entry ends.

Entrants will be automatically entered by following Teach Florida’s Instagram account, sharing a Post and tagging Teach Florida, and tagging three other Instagram accounts in the comments of the Post. Entrant must be following Teach Florida to win.

Alternative Method of Entry:
You may also enter by mailing a handwritten 3 x 5 card with your full name, postal address, email address and telephone number to Teach Florida at ______________. Only one card will be allowed per envelope and only one such entry may be submitted per day (as determined by the postmark on each envelope) by each person.

All contact information provided must be valid, truthful and current. Entries submitted must be received by the close of the Contest Period. Sponsor is not responsible for late, lost, delayed, damaged, misdirected, incomplete, illegible or unintelligible entries. Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify false entries or entries suspected of being false. Persons discovered entering under several names will be disqualified. Only complete valid entries will be accepted. Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late, damaged, delayed, destroyed, misdirected, incomplete, illegible, or postage due mail. Such entries are void and will not be accepted. Incomplete, unreadable, or unintelligible entries, in the sole discretion of Sponsor, will be disqualified. Sponsor will not verify receipt of entries. All entries submitted become the sole property of Sponsor and will not be acknowledged or returned. In the event a dispute regarding the identity of the individual who actually submitted an entry cannot be resolved to Sponsor’s satisfaction, the affected entry will be deemed ineligible.

No purchase is necessary to enter.

PRIZES:

There prize will be a $1,000 payment (“Payment”) towards a Teach Florida member school (“Member School”), as listed on the teachcoalition.org/fl website. Payment will be made by September 30, 2022. 

Winner must sign an affidavit of eligibility/liability and publicity release (“Release”) and will be responsible for paying any fees or taxes associated with the prize. If the winner is under the age of 18, the Release must be co-signed by the winner’s legal parent or guardian. All prizes are awarded “as is” and are non-transferable. Unless restricted by law, winner(s) will be required to complete and return the Release within fifteen (15) days from the date of notification. By accepting the prize, the winners grant permission for the Sponsor to use the winners’ name, photograph(s) and other identifying information at Sponsor’s discretion for future advertising, publications, promotional materials and to post online on Sponsor’s website and social media without compensation, unless prohibited by law. If applicable law prohibits the Orthodox Union from awarding the winner the prize, the Orthodox union may award the prize in name only.

CONDITIONS OF ENTRY:

By participating in the Contest, Entrants agree to release and hold harmless the Sponsor and its related entities together with their subsidiaries, affiliates, parent companies, directors, employees, officers, licensees, licensors and agents of each, including without limitation, their respective advertising and promotion entities and any person or entity associated with the production, judging, or administration of the Contest, (the “Indemnified Parties”) from any and all liability, loss or damage arising from or in connection with awarding, receipt and/or use or misuse of prize, participation in Contest and/or any prize-related activities, except where restricted by law. The Indemnified Parties are not responsible for incomplete or misdirected entries, technical or network malfunctions or failures, or causes beyond their control. Entrants are solely responsible for their entries. 

The contest is void where prohibited or restricted by law.  Teach Florida and the Orthodox Union reserve the right to cancel the contest or modify these rules at its discretion. In the event of a dispute regarding the winner, the Orthodox Union reserves the right to award or not award the prize in its sole discretion. The Orthodox Union reserves the right to disqualify any Entrant whose entry or conduct appears in any way to: inhibit the enjoyment of others; tamper with the competition; violate these rules or other applicable law or regulation; infringe on the rights of third parties; or act in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner. 

Decisions of the Orthodox Union are final and binding.

Any and all disputes regarding these Official Rules and/or the Contest shall be determined by binding arbitration before the Vaad Hadin V’Horaah, Rabbinical Court in New City, New York, an Orthodox Beit Din. The ruling and award of such Orthodox Beit Din will be a final, binding, non-appealable, and legally enforceable decision.

PUBLICITY:

By submitting an entry, Entrants agree that the Sponsor has the right to use any Entrant’s name, photographs, likeness, statements, biographical information, voice, city and state address and/or prize information for publicity, promotional or advertising purposes on a worldwide basis, and in all forms of media, now or hereafter known, in perpetuity, without review, permission or further compensation unless prohibited by law.  Entrants also release Sponsor from any liability related to the above.

PRIVACY:

All personal information collected by the Sponsor will be used for administration of the Contest. In addition, Entrants may receive email correspondence from, or on behalf of the Sponsor, subject to the Sponsor’s privacy policy. Sponsor uses reasonable commercial efforts to comply with federal CAN-SPAM guidelines, and Entrants may subsequently opt-out of receiving further emails by following the opt-out instructions contained in the email.

WINNERS’ LIST:

The winners may be listed on the teachcoalition.org/fl. For a copy of the winners’ list, please send a self-addressed, stamped envelope to:  Teach Florida at the Orthodox Union, 40 Rector Street, New York, NY 10004. The information will be available once the winners has been verified and the prizes have been awarded. All requests must be received within 90 days of the end of the Contest Period (WA, VT residents need not affix postage). Winners’ name(s) can be accessed on our website.
